Se fosse su aNobii, con i suoi 95 libri letti nel 2006 (ma anche con i 51 del 2007) George W. darebbe la paga a gran parte dei lettori più “robusti”. Cosa leggeva Bush alla casa Bianca? E dove trovava il tempo di leggere? Ma soprattutto, cosa ha imparato da ciò che ha letto? A quanto pare, niente che già non sapesse, o che non credesse di sapere già:
My hat is off to Bush for the sheer volume and, often, high quality of his reading. But his books reflect a man who is seeking to learn what he already knows. The caricature of Bush as unread died today -- or was it yesterday? But the reality of the intellectually insulated man endures.
